Earings with stones – most often bedded stone for silver earings is zircon (cubic zirconium). Zircon is much harder than common glass (for example, most of Swarovski components are made from glass). Zircon assures with its hardness much longer durability and gloss of stones as glass (Swarovski). Besides, for most of our silver earings is applied the stone setting technique, where the stone is not glued but set into silver that surrounds it on all sides, which is considerably tougher work but it is far more durable than by using glue.
